Therapy

The process of therapy is different for each person and couple. With my experience and therapeutic tools, we will work together to create focused goals for your sessions to help you become a more whole person.  I think holistically:  our mind, body, spirit are interrelated.  When we suffer in one dimension, other aspects of our wellbeing are affected as well.

Process

My usual practice is to conduct an evaluation during the first several times we meet, giving us both time to decide whether I am the best person to provide psychological services to address your goals.  The process of therapy depends on your values, goals, circumstances, and motivation. I draw on different approaches to respond to this. I always hope to create a collaborative working relationship and to provide a supportive, relaxed environment so you can talk honestly about yourself and the challenges you face. I also use feedback informed practice, which means that I invite feedback from you, either verbal or in writing, to continually adjust and improve my approach. I also think holistically; our mind, body, and spirit are interrelated, and when we suffer in one dimension, other aspects are impacted as well.

Goals

Sometimes people come for therapy unsure where to focus, not knowing what is the matter. Our symptoms, distress, health concerns, relationships, patterns of reactivity, and overall life functioning provide important guides.
